Found in New Windsor, NY, an hour’s drive from the George Washington Bridge, Storm King Art Facility is one of the nation’s largest and most distinguished exterior sculpture parks. Started in 1960 by Ralph E. Ogden and H. Peter Stern, co-owners of the Star Expansion Company, it was initially a Hudson River College paints gallery prior to widening the extent to include outdoor sculpture. It has successfully integrated art and its all-natural environments to reveal the appeal of Orange County.
The landscape at Storm King Art Facility is likewise component of the sculpture with Maya Lin’s Wavefield, 2007-08. Lin is best understood for designing the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC. Aristide Economopoulos
